Elevators
Elevator dreams always feel so significant, and for good reason. Elevators invite a particular type of tension. Even to the most seasoned of elevator-users, there’s a confinement and uncertainty to the experience. Can the elevator fit one more? Is it going up, or is it going down? Why is it taking so long? What floor am I on again? Do I make small talk with the other person in here, or do I ride respectfully in silence?
Collectively, elevator dreams signal a shift in awareness: an ascension (or descension) between two states of being. These particular dreams are subconscious screams for introspection.
To dream that an elevator is going up suggests that you are on the path of an enlightened awareness about a particular situation.
To dream that an elevator is going down means that you are being forced to acknowledge hidden truths that have been disrupting your status quo in the shadows.
To dream that an elevator is stuck symbolizes that you are experiencing some sort of blockage in your waking life. You feel trapped by a person or a circumstance, by forces out of your control.
To dream that you are on a crowded elevator indicates that you feel confined by social pressure. You are craving privacy and space.
To dream that the elevator music was memorable is an encouragement to pay more attention to the smaller details. You may find creative inspiration here.
